The Houthis, who had stayed out of its first phase, declared a blockade on Saudi Arabia and said they struck oil infrastructure near the kingdom’s East-West pipeline. AP reported that more than 10 vessels have turned around in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden since the announcement, while Bab el-Mandeb traffic has fallen 30% from June levels. Hormuz is still the immediate battlefield.
